The contact owns a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. While driving approximately 5 mph, the front driver side air bag inadvertently deployed without impact to the vehicle. The contact sustained injury to the upper and middle back area. The contact was able to resume driving. The failure had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000.
