This is really a fun car to drive. Just would like to beable to drive it. The car is slow starting and now key will not turn. My daughter really wants to drive it too

Update from Sep 19, 2010: Ok I took the car to see my mechanic. I actually could get it started but really took a bit to catch. Anyway the problem was the new battery was not installed correctly. My mechanic tightened the bolts down and the car starts like a champ. Oh by the way my mechanic cost for this $0.00. My parents had had this problem earlier once they had changed out the battery. They took it back to the same mechanic that replaced the battery only to get over charged for replacing the ignition switch. Of course you can tell that switch didn't need to be done.

key would not turn/start ignition. Tapping key with rubber hammer helped for a while... eventually had to have key master cylinder replaced. 5 months later it is starting to happen again. Pontiac won't do a thing. Only 90 day warranty on part. Last pontiac I ever buy.

up untill a couple days ago everything was working fine. i installed an auto start and then found out that i had to also install a VATS system bypass mod. in the process of doing so the black wire to the keylock cylinder was cut causing me to re-learn the system. the key worked fine dureing this process. i started the vehicle and alowed the battery to recharge fully before shutting it off. after turning the key a few times in the process of reinstalling the bypass i came to the point where the key would not turn at all. locked in the off position. i then came to the realisation that i may have broken or disfigured the keylock cylinder parking lock cable. i took the ignition switch apart to check and the key lock cylinder even when seperated still will not turn, leaveing only 2 more solutions. ether the VATS has somehow locked the cylinder or the key lock cylinder is broken (worn out) while apart i could not see any visible reason as to why the VATS would lock the cylinder. if anyone has any sugestions or comments please feel free to make them here or send me an e-mail.

Just happened. Car would not shut off. Windows won't go up. (YES IT'S NOW RAINING) We CAN go in drive and reverse. Won't go into park. Pulled a fuse to get it to stop running. Emergency brake is working. When you shift gears the car makes a grinding noise like when you try to start the car when it's already running. Odometer is not working, gas gauge not working. PLEASE HELP!!!
