CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 is starting to have the same problems as previous model years, including the headlights blowing out due to bad connectors.
The wiring harness connections aren't a big deal to replace, as long as your dealer or mechanic doesn't charge you an arm & a leg to "diagnose" the problem.

This 2009 G6 is a second owner car purchased from a rental outfit in 2011. For some unknown reason vehicle would not "crankover" or engage starter mimicking a bad battery or related connection issues. Power for headlights, radio, etc were still otherwise working and available. Turning the ignition key to max winding point however produced no "Clicks" or noises of any kind. Vehicle was then towed to the first of two very reputable unrelated mechanic shops for scanning etc. Both shops determined that main computer was fried out and not responding. Ironically both shops mentioned that this problem was very common with these vehicles and actually occurred quite frequently where ignition loses memory and has to be reprogrammed or just completely goes out for no apparent reason. My question to Pontiac when emailing them was if any of the (5) or more recalls;especially in the electrical voltage surge area, caused this main computer to burn out prematurely.
