The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. While traveling at high speeds, the vehicle began to rattle and shake without warning. Also, after the contact put on her seat belt, the seat belt warning chime sounded while the seat belt was engaged and in use. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was provided a repair estimate. Additionally, the contact stated that the fuel pump no longer functioned, which made the vehicle inoperative. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 156,000.

Noticed a strong gas smell coming from rear of car for several days. Finally took car in for inspection. Mechanic said that the fuel pump modulator needs to be replaced. I've seen on several websites that the Pontiac G5 has the same problem and were being recalled. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything about the Pontiac G6. I believe that this is a serious issue with this car. Could you please investigate this. When parking the car in my garage the odor was quite strong and also a danger to me and my family. The car could have caught on fire as well as my house.

Fuel leaking from gas tank area and showing P0446 code. There is an existing recall for this issue for this model in my model year range but my VIN is not included within the recall. I feel my issue should be covered by the recall.

There is a crack in the fuel line above the fuel pump on top of the gas tank. There is a distinct gas smell from the car and obd code P0446. This is a hazard to my health. There is an obvious fuel leak. This is not the first time I have heard of this on a GM car.

Started smelling gas fumes when I stopped the car, now I smell it whether I am driving or stopped. Took it to my mechanic and they determined that it was leaking from the top of fuel tank. They said it was either the plastic fuel line cracked on the fuel pump or the module. They said this has been a safety problem with the 2008 G6. I think this is a problem that should be taken care of by GM. This is a serious safety problem with these cars. GM needs a recall on this matter. GM has had recalls on prior years of the G6 with the same problem.

My 2008 Pontiac G6 convertible is leaking fuel from the top of the fuel tank. I had the car lifted up on lifts at the dealership I work at and saw that there was fuel all around the bottom of the fuel tank. The fuel line is leaking because the vehicle does not start on the first attempt. The second attempt builds up enough fuel pressure for a normal start. The fuel odor has gotten so bad inside the cabin that I have to keep the windows cracked at all times while driving to keep me from getting a headache. I can be driving down the road and literally watch the fuel needle drop. GM need to do something about this issue before I or someone else are seriously injured or even killed in a fire!

Purchased from Allstar Chevrolet North on 2/12/16 and was given a carfax report that showed a clean record. Nothing was mentioned about the several recalls on this car. I currently work 1/2 mile from home and I have only put 10,000 on the vehicle. About a month ago I was turning at a light on a busy intersection and I lost all power steering. When that happened several chimes and the warning "power steering" was displayed on radio. I managed to pull into the closet parking lot and turned the motor off. I left the car off for about an hour. When I restarted car the power steering returned. Called the closet mechanic and was informed that this car has had several recalls one being power steering. I called the dealership and spoke with the service manager and he denied any open or closed recalls. He explained that they replaced the steering shaft torque sensor. I asked him for a copy of the repair history emailed to me. On the report there was 3 recalls listed. I called GM and filed a report. GM called back and told me all required repairs were completed and the matter is closed. I explained the car I had only placed 10,000 miles on the car since purchase and if the repair was done properly I shouldn't have this problem.when I asked about the special warranty GM issued from the recall (I obtained this information from the documents the service manager emailed) I was told I would have to pay for diagnostic test and they would only pay if this showed the steering shaft torque sensor was bad. I asked to have this mailed or emailed to me and was told "we don't do that". I also told her about the strong gas smell and I only get 125-150 miles on a full tank. If I had known about these problems I wouldn't have touched this car. Please help. I'm terrified to drive this car.

Fuel pump assembly port developed a crack, resulting in fuel leaking from the area. A very strong fuel odor was noticed when being driven or parked, with slight drips sometimes noticed on the garage floor. The odor was so strong that it was even noticeable in the living areas from simply entering and leaving the garage. If an ignition source were present, a vehicle fire could have occurred, a serious concern. My local mechanic inspected and repaired the vehicle, and believed that the vehicle should be part of a Pontiac recall on similar cobalt, G5, ion vehicles, that they've seen the problem on before, but our VIN does not register as a recalled vehicle for this problem.

Noticed gasoline odors, hard starting, check engine light came on, took to shop for diagnosis. Mechanic said the plastic housing on the top of the fuel pump had cracked, causing gas to leak from the tank also low fuel pressure and vacuum problems. Said car was unsafe to drive and needed the entire fuel pump replaced. The total repair cost is $1000. The G5 model has the same problem and there has been a factory recall but none on the G6 model.
