I started to smell a gas leak coming from the vehicle while it was parked. I have seen other recalls about parts wearing out in hot weather states and believe that my car is being affected. It is not part of the current recall. We are having the same problem as of a few days ago with our 2007 Pontiac G-6 as well.

I began to notice strong fuel smell coming from vehicle which lead me to check for leaks. I noticed a crack in the fuel line as stated in recall 09V-419. Unfortunately the G6 is not covered in this recall even though the G5 is. Because of the fuel leak, gas mileage is suffering greatly. G6 should be included in the previously mentioned recall.

Strong gasoline smell coming from car. Parked it in a garage and the smell was overwhelming, prompting me to see if there was a leak. Discovered there was in fact a fuel leak. Found that there was a massive recall involving Pontiac G5 models and the fuel pump cracking in states with high temperatures, however, the G6 model is not included in the recall.

The line providing gas from my fuel pump has several cracks in it and has started spraying gas. When searching on the internet I have found an incredible number of people that have the exact same issue and are paying 800-1000 to resolve the issue just so they have a safe vehicle to drive. This is a horrible problem to have to deal with and a mistake that GM has been making continually on several models. This needs to be resolved by GM.

There is a strong fuel smell whenever my car is started and runs. There is no evidence of performance issues or leaking liquids. The problem seems to mimic the symptoms found on this popular GM forum post : www.G6ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?T=12672. I believe the problem might be a cracked fuel line inside of the gas tank. GM recalled many cars for this exact same problem, but not the Pontiac G6, which potential uses the same part.

They should add the same recalls for the cobalt and G5 to the G6. It is basically the same car with the same problems. These problems exist on my G6 and many others on the G6 blogs.

I purchased my Pontiac brand new with 189 miles. Shortly after while driving my car, I noticed a squeaking noise from the brakes. I had the brakes checked out and they were fine. Was told it was due to dirt in the brakes. In 2011 my indicator light came on telling me to check my fuel cap. I took it to the mechanic, and ended up paying to have something in the fuel system changed. I am still encountering issues with the indicator light to check the fuel cap. The gas mileage is terrible! I have complained to the dealership about this issue and was told that it was due to it being winter. I then waited until summer and still am experiencing fuel issues. A major issue in which I have noted that hundreds of other Pontiac owners are having is with the steering. My steering is making terrible clanking noises. I am afraid that something is going to break on my car. I am self employed and take clients on errands/dr appointments and rely on my car to get us there safely. I will be taking my car to the dealership to complain of this issue. I also will be complaining of severe rust issues on my car. My window also leaked water. My door was improperly aligned. Water leaked into the door of my car and did not release causing water to stay in my door. I truly believe with all of the complaints in regards to the steering that this should be recalled for safety. Not to mention what other problems the steering shaft is causing your vehicle.
