The car chimes and the information screen on the radio would display *power steering*. the steering would lock up completely and the only way to correct it, is to turn the car off and back on again. The steering also twitches and shakes while at a stand still. Twice the power steering went out completely while driving. Three days before it was scheduled to be fixed, the steering went completely out on my while driving. This is a serious problem that GM needs to address.

I was driving and noticed that my airbag sensor light was coming on. It occasionally comes on and it goes off. I'm having a issue with something underneath my car. I replaced tierod and got two front end alignments. Since purchasing this car in October 2013 I complained to dealership my concerns for my car not feeling safe. It seems to be something in steering or underneath vehicle. My thermostat gauge fluctuates from zero degrees to 220 degrees while driving. Water pump was replaced and it still occurs.

The steering wheel locks up while in use and sometimes when the car sits idle. The steering is electrical so there isn't a place to put power steering fluid which makes for a very difficult time trying to turn. I've had the outer tire rods replaced as well as the rack and pinions and now I've been told that the entire steering column has to be replaced. Where is the recall on this car!!!!

I was driving to work, and while merging, the power steering alarm came on and the power steering stopped working. I was able to get to the side of the road without causing an accident. I turned the car off, and back on. Everything seemed to be working again at that point. Less than one mile later, the same issue occurred. There was not really a shoulder to pull over to and I ended up in someone's driveway to avoid and accident, as this was a very well traveled route. Luckily, there were no accidents involved and that my daughter was not in the car with me. They ended up replacing the whole steering assembly. It had been giving me the warnings in the morning, which we thought was due to the cold. We didn't realize at the time that the power steering was electrically controlled. I could not imagine what would of happened if I was in the city and didn't have the room to pull over, nor the speed to do it.

The vehicle turned off when the steering column was turned completely. This of which put myself, as well as other drivers, in jeopardy. Luckily, this occurred in a parking lot with no other cars around. If this occurred on a highway turn-around or under different circumstances, many people could have been injured or killed.

A couple of times this past year after my vehicle hit 75K miles, my steering has locked up causing me to have to pull on the wheel very hard just to make the turn which a bit of a concern. Thankfully no accident resulting from this. I have not had this problem in the last couple of months. However I have also had an issue with the brake lights. A friend who was following me advised that my brake lights were turning on even when I wasn't braking. Additionally, in July of 2013 (my vehicle was at about 70K miles) we began smelling gasoline coming from the vehicle. We took it to get the car repaired and the mechanic identified that my fuel pump was leaking gasoline and had to be completely replaced which cost about $1000. My check engine light has now come on again and I am taking it this week to get it inspected. The car jerks when moving it from park into gear, and when driving the timing seems to be off when accelerating.

On Sunday, September 18, 2011, I was involved in an accident when I lost control of my 2007 Pontiac G6. The accident occurred in the afternoon, the weather was clear and there was no precipitation. I was traveling southbound, in the left lane, passing a vehicle, when suddenly I lost control of my 2007 Pontiac G6. The car felt like it started to swerve to the right. I tried to correct it and the steering was hard, I couldn't move the steering wheel and had no control of the car. It was very scary, as I swerved back and forth and finally crossed through the right lane. Luckily my car was stopped by a guard rail and was facing northbound. The dealership diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty ignition switch and replaced it. This was the scariest moment of my life. I saw my life flash in front of me, there were several vehicles traveling on the highway and I envisioned a pile up. Luckily, the other drivers were able to avoid hitting my vehicle. Please consider adding the 2007 Pontiac G6 to the recall that was recently announced, which included the 2007 Pontiac G5. This almost cost me my life.

Small stream of white smoke began to emit from the steering column, suddenly the chime went on and the power steering failed. Drove vehicle to dealership who advised me the issue is a common electrical failure in G6 models and that several other years have been recalled for the same issue, but not 2007. Dealer advised me to hold on to the receipt for reimbursement in the event that GM does recall the 2007 model. After waiting nearly two years, I decided to issue a letter to GM requesting reimbursement. On 2/6/14 I was contacted by GM customer service representatives who explained a recall was not in place and therefore they would not reimburse. I was further advised by GM representative 'joseph' that GM is "not a charity" and that I would just have to "deal with it." In a final effort to resolve the issue I requested a voucher toward a new GM purchase instead of reimbursement as sign of good-faith that GM would stand behind their products; this request was also denied. GM representatives also refused to issue me a written explanation of denial. I am able to provide a copy of the service invoice and proof of ownership at the time of the incident.

Driver can turn on car and power steering light is flashing on display screen. Wheel is almost impossible to turn when this happens. If car is turned off and restarted it sometimes resets but not always. Has happened when driving with my children in car. Power steering problems noted on other G6 models and years with recalls and have major concerns for safety of myself and others on roadways. Would this problem warrant a recall on this electric power steering?
