Regulator broken in rear passenger door. Window was stuck down. We took the door apart and put the window back up with clamps and disconnected the motor. Will get it fixed eventually.

This is the third time I have had to replace this extremely expensive window regulator/motor. At what point does this company figure out that the parts that they are replacing them with are defective!!

Last three car purchases have been pontiacs.. never again!!!!!!!

I have had to fix every window on my Bonneville, one twice. The rear window is broken now but i can't afford the 430.00 to fix it so i had it jammed with pvc so it stays up all the time. Cost me $40.00. i will never, ever buy another pontiac as long as i live.

This is the second time a back rear window motor has gone out in six months time. The back windows have probably only been used a dozen times at most. The cost of repair (over $500 each time) helps me understand why they had 0% interest for 5 years when I bought it new. They planned to ding me on parts as the car aged. It rains here so I can't just ignore it, I had to get it fixed. Now I wonder what else will go wrong with the car.

Both rear window regulator gears cracked and broke. I'm not the only person complaining about about the rear regulators. This problem started when the car had about 65000 miles. From there on its been a nightmare, I sure hope for recall

Left Rear window stopped working, I took it to a auto class repair shop and they said it was the motor. My car is no longer under warranty so I paid about $400.00 to have it fixed.

Myself /my husband are the main riders in this car, SO the rear windows are rarely used.. This happened in 2005.. Not happy!!!

This is the second rear window to stop working.. Now I realized there is definitely a problem with this car.. both rear windows have stopped working, I could only afford to replace one of these windows.. I am really starting to hate my car!!!! I can not afford to fix the second window. I had it wired so it won't drop down anymore so now i can't open it at all. And still have 1 more year of car payments. I guess each year a window will stop working..

I have had both of the window regulators go out in the back and the windows just fall down. So, even though it looks tacky, i have had to tape them up since I can not afford to get them fixed. Also, the driver side window just doesn't want to work sometimes. This last time I told myself that I was just going to hold down the down button utill it worked. It took about 15 min, but it works now. This was a real pain going through Chicago and the tolls. I had to open my door to put my money in. I don't think that I will ever buy one of these cars again!

The regulators in the rear windows failed within 4 weeks of each other in 2003 - $800. Sunroof broke in 2005 - $1,600. The car is in the shop today to replace the front window regulators - $800!

I've also been seeing owners complaining about rack & pinion issues. I had to replace mine in 2005.

You can repair the plastic clip that breaks with plastic epoxy. The plastic clip that holds the regulator cable cracks and then breaks. I got some plastic epoxy from parts store for $5 and repaired it and put some on the other 3 regulators and I have had no problems. It took about 2 hours or you can check online for rebuilt or after market regulators they are not hard to replace and they run from $80-$200.

I had the rear driver side window replaced at the expence of $500.00 six months after I bought the car. Six months after that the rear passenger window quit working. Four months ago, the passenger window quit working. Friday, when I got in my car, after work, the drivers window is now no longer working either. For the nice price of 360.00 a piece, I can have windows that work once again in my 2000 Pontiac "piece of sh*t" Bonneville.

Have had all four power windows fail at least 1 or more times since purchasing this car new. All four have had motors and regulators replaced. The latest is the passanger window which fails intermittantly and starts working after I have it scheduled for repair. I'm told they can't fix the problem if it's working when I bring it in. This model year was very poorly constructed

Bonneville SE

  • 118,000 miles

This is the THIRD power window that has failed! Fortunately, the first two (driver & left-rear) were covered by third party's extended warranty (still a $100 deductible). Now the front passenger window has failed and I'm not sure about the rear passenger that failed before. These windows are/were rarely used. I was told after the second repair that the regulators had been "redesigned." Small comfort now.

Bonneville

  • 65,000 miles

The Rear window regulator went out on each side of the car at 65000 and 70000 miles. The window would not go up and thus had to be fixed even though the windows were rarely used. Same thing happened to a friends car same make and model and year except it was the regulator on the same side twice within a year and a haf. Pontiac says that they haven't had a lot of complaints and can do nothing about it since it has been driven 70000 miles. Not to mention that they want you to have to spend $400 each time on the part to keep a window up that has probably been used a dozen times at the most. I will not purchase another GM product.
