The middle section of the steering column must be replaced due to wear. Problem noticed long ago, but not identified. I believe it to be a serious safety issue. Thankfully, it hasn't failed completely yet. Nlm

During the tie rod end replacemnt a noise was heard in steering wheel. Dealer was notified, and made some repairs. But, problem is still reoccurring. Dealer notified again, and informed consumer that problem was in steering column upper shaft. Feel free to provide any further information.

While traveling at low speeds, approximately 5 mph, there is vibration in steering wheel and a "clunking" noise coming from vehicle. Dealership has determined that steering shaft had to be replaced. *note: Part needed is on back order and will be unavailable until mid-November 2001. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
