The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic, who informed her that there is was problem with the gear shift knob, and stated it was not engaging correctly. The mechanic removed the gear shift knob. The vehicle can be driven without the gear shift knob. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, and the gear shift knob was replaced. The gear shift knob failed again six months later. The contact spoke with dealership and the manufacturer, and both informed her there was no recall for this vehicle. The vehicle currently had 61800 miles.
