2004 Pontiac aztec has a recall for ignition switch. However, this vehicle was not included in that recalled due to VIN. The vehicle stalled as described in the recall, but Pontiac will not recognize this vehicle. It happened several times, no repairs as of yet.

Driving at a low speed in a parking lot by myself, my vehicle shut off on me. The battery light flashed and I lost the steering and brakes. I had to slam on the emergency brake to avoid hitting a parked vehicle. This incident was reported to GM and was taken to wayne woodrums Pontiac dealership in macomb, il. They found nothing wrong with it, there were no codes. I have had numerous problems with this vehicle including braking issues that can not be fixed, PCV valve failure, and currently it is struggling while driving and loud rattling, I am calling woodrums back tommorrow morning. I am unsure of the date this happened, all of my paperwork is in another location. I do know it was in November of 2004.

While driving on the highway on vacation my aztec just shut off. I had it towed they reset the computer and sent it out the door. Eight hours later it did it again. I had it towed back and they found a bad ignition relay!! this thing is not even four months old.
