BCM ( Body Control Modual ) this little part is about the size of a 1" square cube and cost me $322.60. The symptoms for a bad BCM are varied and many, the best way to sum them up is an electrical system gone haywire. Included are such components as the dash board indicators, gas gauge and speedometer needles going bezerk, low fuel indicator telling you that you need gas when in fact you know damn good and well you have a full tank. Some times it's the doors locks that wont work or the radio and at times both and other times all the above and then some. Currently my 2002 Aztek has this annoying Audio Warning Beeper that sounds off through the speaker in the driver side door that will not shut off for nothing, well get this... when I disconnected the speaker the Audio Warning Beeper went off, but as a result the damn speedometer stopped working! So it will go off but you will not have anything to tell you how fast you are going. Some have said that if you undo the positive wire from the battery for about 15 minutes that it will reset the system, when I done this all it did was shuffle the symtoms around. Now one might think that all of the above is plenty enough to be upset about, but not as annoying as all of the above are what really pisses me off is the fact that I first replaced the BCM on my 2002 Aztek back on May 28, 2011 and not even a year later I have to replace the damn thing again... What in the Hell is the deal with this 2002 Aztek. What makes this even worse is the fact that This is my daughters car that I bought for her to drive while away at college and each time This BCM has gone bad I have to drive two hours to drop my car off to her and take hers with me to drop it off at my mechanic back here at home, then I have to take her car back to her when it is done. It was bad enough the first time and for the BCM to go bad again in just like 8-9 months later is just really bad. You know that the reason why I bought my daughter an Aztek was because I also own another Aztek, it is a 2001 and it a wonderful car! I have had no problems with it to date. (Knock On Wood)
