When vehicle is being driven at highway speeds a malfunction occurs within transmission output speed sensor, causing vehicle to go into low gear, nearly resulting in a collision. The transmission output speed sensor failed at highway speed, resulting in a violent, sudden, and unexpected deceleration due to transmission downshift.

The automatic transmission on this vehicle intermittently emits a loud clunk (which can be felt) when shifting between gears. The dealership has tried various fixes, including replacing the memory module, yet the problem persists. They now deny that there is a problem, and claim that their "extensive" transmission tests report that the transmission is operating within normal parameters even though the service manager told me he could adjust the transmission some more. He has since denied making this statement, after ChryslerS head office was brought in to the equation. As well, ChryslerS regional representative told me that they would repurchase the vehicle if there was still anything wrong with the transmission, yet have also retracted that statement as well.

While taking off from a stop sign the transmission failed and the vehicle would not roll in any direction and ended up having to be towed to the dealer. This is a potential safety problem because it could have happened in a busy intersection. Chrysler refuses to admit that the problem is a defect even though dozens of cases are documented on the internet and the guidebook lemonaid lists the transmissions as having problems for these vehicles.

Their customer service agents repeatedly declined my request to talk to their supervisors, saying that it would waste their supervisors' time. I talked with more than 10 agents. They told me: "you can sue us if you want to." Everyone of them said they did not know their CEO, Mr. Rober eaton's phone. A car with only 1530 miles broke down in the middle of highway. Chrysler really put my fimily's life in danger. The quality and safety of thier product should be seriously questioned!
