problem #15

Mar 162000

The dashboard airbag warning light began to stay on continually. Under warranty, in March of 2000, the dealer replaced both the airbag and the clockspring assembly. The problem appeared to be fixed. However, I began noting several months ago that the airbag warning light will come on at random times. I spoke to the dealer's service rep and I was told that the clockspring was again defective. I have learned that Chrysler has replaced some 124,000 of these at customer cost. This is a definite safety issue and Chrysler needs to do a recall asap. Don't let them stall for years as you let them do with the engine fire recall. I just had that done, some 2 and a half years after the problem was apparent.
