The transmission and belt tensioner failed, the axle had broken, the horn, wipers, and cruise control failed. The A/C had gone out along with the condenser. There was fluid leakage in the power steering rack & pinion, the vehicle had gone dead. As a result the computer was replaced. The consumer requested to be reimbursed for the repair costs. Scc

The component failure was noticed by the airbag light coming on and the horn not working. A clicking noise could be heard in the steering column and since I did not know the potential severity of the problem requested the dealer to service it. I was not made aware that this part controlled the functional of the vehicles safety provisions like the air bag/ and horn.

Air bag light is on, the horn does not work and the speed control is inoperative. There are Chrysler service bulletins on the clock spring wiring harness but no recall. This is a safety hazard (no horn, no airbag) and should be addressed by a recall.

Air bag light lit, indicating a problem with the driver's side airbag. Horn quit working at the same time. Cruise control is inoperative also. This represents a major safety issue - driving without the use of an airbag or horn.

Apparently this is a common problem. Airbag light on, horn and cruise control don't work. Dealer charged me almost $350 to fix what it obviously a safety defect, given the number of people who are having this problem.

This is definitely a safety defect as the horn doesn't work at all! Chrysler/Plymouth says is isn't a safety defect. How can this be, when you can't use the horn, the air bag won't work. That's not a safety defect?! the average cost for this repair is $250 - ridiculous! Chrysler to date has sold over 124,511 replacement parts for this clockspring assembly. I would say this is quite a profit for a defective part. Again, I think this is definitely a safety defect and Chrysler should recall it! I'm hoping you can help with this problem. Thanks!

Air bag safety light goes on and off intermittently. Horn does not function when light is on. Confidence in airbag is suspect, but not clear to me what the repair responsibility would be. Does not seem like a normal consumable like tires, breaks or fuses but rather a design defect that should be corrected by Chrysler.
