The transmission and belt tensioner failed, the axle had broken, the horn, wipers, and cruise control failed. The A/C had gone out along with the condenser. There was fluid leakage in the power steering rack & pinion, the vehicle had gone dead. As a result the computer was replaced. The consumer requested to be reimbursed for the repair costs. Scc

A clicking noise could be heard in the steering column and since I did not know the potential severity of the problem requested the dealer to service it. I was not made aware that this part controlled the functional of the vehicles safety provisions like the air bag/ and horn.

This is definitely a safety defect as the horn doesn't work at all! Chrysler/Plymouth says is isn't a safety defect. How can this be, when you can't use the horn, the air bag won't work. That's not a safety defect?! the average cost for this repair is $250 - ridiculous! Chrysler to date has sold over 124,511 replacement parts for this clockspring assembly. I would say this is quite a profit for a defective part. Again, I think this is definitely a safety defect and Chrysler should recall it! I'm hoping you can help with this problem. Thanks!
