We have had the Olds Silhouette for 4 yrs and it is only a 5 yr old car and the transmission has gone out for the 2nd time. The 1st time that it went out in 2002 (A 1 YR OLD CAR), it was covered under warranty. This time it is just past the time limit for the warranty which is 3 yrs, but it is under on the mileage, the warranty is for 50,000 miles and we have only put 47,000. So, basically we are being penalized for putting less miles on our car. The transmission doesn't wear out from just sitting in the driveway, so I am confused about the time limit. We have always taken our car to the GM dealership for all of its scheduled maintenance and they replaced the transmission the 1st time, but they are no help now in standing by their work or giving any input on why this car would go through transmissions like chewing gum. I am currently trying to get feedback from GM on why the transmission could have so many problems. For crying out loud, the car is only 5 yrs old and about $8,000 worth of repairs later.......
