Engine cylinder wear, steel powder in the oil and gasket leaking will put oil on the outside of the engine and runs down to crankshaft positioner sensor and steel from cylinder wear coats the magnetic sensor hiding under the belt pulley sheave with the balance dampener. Use a degreaser spray and spew the squirt by saturating the area where the sensor is at. Use a fifth of a large can, wait 15 minutes. Spray with a garden hose. Do this 5 times until can is empty. Use a tub under the car so there is no run off on to grass or drain or street/road drain. Dispose of according to the law. The sensor may be over heating and the steel powder that is in the oil that the oil filter can not filter out, is sticking to the magnet causing erratic problems and the leaking oil cakes up over time and the sensor over heats and shuts the engine off. After my car drives for several miles my engine gets strange and shuts off. I have tried several times to get behind the balancer and spray 2 cans and garden hose wash. I pulled off wire connector and cleaned the terminals with battery terminal electrical cleaner spray. The more times I clean the area, the better the car engine runs. Now the car engine shutters a little after several minutes of running, but continues run with out shutting off.
