You've heard it all before ... the gauges go crazy, the dash lights flash and the thing shuts down. Sometimes it'll start, sometimes not. It's moody !!!

Right now it's in the shop getting some more attention....HELP ~

1998 Olds Intrigue. Sometimes when I'm driving the whole dashboard lights up and the car just shuts down. Why?? I was driving and out of nowhere, all of my dash lights come on, and the car just shuts down. Then later the next day, the car starts right up like nothing ever happened. I'm at my wits end with this, and don't want to keep spending money for the wrong solutions!!! Also, sometimes the car won't even start, the security light comes on, and may not start for ten minutes, or 24 hours... I have had the car scanned, I have changed the battery, the alternator has been checked, a new computer (used) and recently had the key ignition switch changed. The very next day it happened again!!! I was driving and out of nowhere, all of my dash lights come on, and the car just shuts down. Then later the next day, the car starts right up like nothing ever happened. I'm at my wits end with this, and don't want to keep spending money for the wrong solutions. I am not sure that the Body Control Module is the answer either. It cost me $80 for the battery, and $300 for the ignition key switch plus $40 for the used computer, and THAT didn't fix it. I and the guys at the shop are mystified as to what to do here, and I don't want to spend more money for the wrong answer!!!

Is there a way to disconnect the security system, because I really do think this is the root of the problem. Other than this, my car rides and drives beautiful, when I can start it and keep it started!

TOTALLY CLUELESS AND PISSED!
