A leak in the heater core AND water pump led the engine to over heat. I didn't catch it in time and by the time I pulled over, it steamed from under the hood for like 20 minutes. We thought it was the thermostat so we replaced it but that didn't fix it. Instead it now began pouring white smoke out of the exhaust system. We replaced the cylinder head because the overheating caused it to crack (STUPID ALUMINUM HEAD!) but that didn't take care of the smoke. We had to replace the IAC valve to get rid of the smoke, but upon doing that we came across a new problem - the car dies while in drive with the brake down. After it dies, it won't start back up - it won't start unless you hold down the accelerator, but as soon as you let go it dies. This problem HAS NOT been fixed yet. It could be a number of things that I can't afford. I had to put $1000 into it just to get it this far - $500 in parts and $500 in labor. The two little leaks led to all this trouble... I can't believe it. If anyone has had a problem like this and knows how to fix it, please let me know!
