The contact owns a 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The contact stated that the paint was chipping on the vehicle down to the metal. The chipping was present on all surfaces of the vehicle, especially the hood. A mechanic stated that the clear coat was rubbing off and the failure was a widespread issue. The manufacturer has not been notified. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage was approximately 59,000 and failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
