I purchased a 2002 alero it wont hold coolant the car starts to overheat coolant is pouring out on the ground everytime I fill the radiator and everyday i check it's low their is a ticking sound when you start it and the car is cold ,it's idle is high . I was told the engine is bad by a relative now I believe it's the head gasket my check engine stays on my passenger window wont go down, and my turn signals don't work have the time .

well i just had a water pump put on my 2002 Alero on August 27,2011 and now its still over heating and leaking coolant under the passenager side front tire. Not sure its the water pump again or the intake manifold gasket,I haven't even had the car for a month yet, talk about a real pain in the ass.I'm missing work due to not having transportation.

Let me start out by saying I loved this car when I got it . I got it used from a little old man who used to tow it with his motor home to Florida and back so it only had 24,000 miles on it when I got it ! I was so excited to have a newer car and it was sporty looking yet a family car. In the last 3 years I have done nothing but dump $$$ to the tune of like $3000 into this Piece of Sh*t !! I have had the wheel bearing replaced twice, I have replaced the front and rear brakes and rotors more times than I can count ! Then this summer it has cost me a fortune. First the power steering hose went that cost $400 to replace ,then About 2 weeks later I was smelling antifreeze again took it the shop my mechanic calls me and tells me it is the intake manifold gasket ..so I say how much $ 800.00 at this point I am Furious but I have no choice but to do it . About a month later the water pump goes another $ 250.00 I was like FML I got to get rid of this car ... !! Then now this week the car was over heating so I took it in ...I got a phone call today telling me it is the head gasket . I am pissed apparently it is a common thing with this car ...WTF this is the worst car I have ever owned !!! I have decided not to fix it the car has only 75,000 miles on it but almost every light on the dash is lit and if I spend $ 1300 to fix it what is next ? I will never buy another oldsmobile or GM product again I don't know what the hell I was thinking ?? oh yeah a few more issues the blinker shorts out constantly ,the dome light just falls out of the fixture the dash is starting to warp and my mechanic tells me the next thing that will probably go is the timing chain .... No thank you !!! I will be purchasing a Nissan or Honda within the next few weeks ! F*CK YOU OLDSMOBILE !!!!

This has to be the biggest piece of crap car ever made. I bought it used and thought it was a good deal but have now spent 2 times what i paid for it in repairs and tow bills. Have had the thermostat replaced along with the infamous intake gasket. Had to have the tranny serviced more times than i care to talk about, buy the way how do you make a car without a transmission fluid dip stick ( just plain stupid ), Have had to replace the overflow bottle 2 time becouse the back pressure from ignorantly designed cooling system has blown the seal on the cap causing the car to over heat. I would llike to know if anyone can tell me if there is a class action suite against GM for this. If so could you please let me know.Oh by the way dont try to trade it in for a new car, I have been told buuy more then 1 dealer that they wont take the car......
