Car ran out of gas while gas gauge still showed over 1/4 tank left. After adding 1 gallon of gas, gas gauge jumped to almost full. After filling tank and driving 200 miles, gas gauge still shows over 1/2 tank left.

Fuel gauge does not work properly-have run out of gas twice when that meter says I have a quarter of a tank. No alarm. Contacted the dealer and they informed me that since my warranty is up, I would have to pay for it. Spoke with Oldsmobile and they say that only Canadian cars are covered under the recall.
