The front passenger seat of my 2000 Alero has stopped latching in place and freely moves on the rails on the floor board. This happen right after I bought the car and it was replaced, and now the replacement is doing the same thing. I can not drive with a passenger in the front because it is not safe.

We were involved in an accident in Sep 2004. Another vechile was knocked into our vechile and my wife's seat did not remain locked in position. He seat slammed forward and my wife received fractures to her leg, and foot. Along with a tear in the mincus of her knee. I have requested that GM look into this isse with the seat, but I do not feel that they are really concerned about the issue.
