CarComplaints.com Notes: RIP, Xterra. The SUV was retired after the 2015 model year because of poor fuel economy, poorer sales, and Nissan's unwillingness to bring the vehicle up-to-date with safety and emissions standards.
The head unit on the truck has restarted twice and seems to have a mind of it's own. It will not automatically dim or the steering wheel controls will randomly not work. I have told the dealership twice but they have not seen it happening and can not duplicate it in the shop, so nothing has been done.
Had Xterra in 4 days after I bought it, service couldn't find the problem. Picked it up and happened again leaving the dealership, then again the day after. Have it there now. Seem like when it gets warm or moisture the navigation and all the electric stops working all the gauges go down. No power and the Xterra starts to chug. Seems to only happen when its wet so something is shorting out in the computer seem.
I am very upset. already called the corp. office and filled out stuff for a lemon law. The dealership should give me a new Xterra or another truck. And whose not to say this is going to happen again. Should of stuck with a Toyota
Do not buy a car from Nissan in Anchorage, AK. If you find another shop to work on it.. They are a big joke, third time going with npf, called the service manager and he acts like he just jumped out of the Cracker Jack box......................
