Leaking roof. Caused by nutsert installed incorrectly at an angle twisting sheet metal. Defective nutsert drilled out at dealer and sheet metal hammered flat. Area received touch up paint blending area.
Observation of AOI along with body shops description of failure mode with bent sheet metal requiring hammer to make flat has me questioning the structural integrity of the area and repair. With bent sheet metal it can create stress risers resulting in fracturing. Removal of nutsert caused additional damage with jagged hole for increased chance of tear out. The combination of the two failure modes yields the metal and surrounding material in question. AOI has increased chance of continued leaking. With bikes, kayaks and other outdoor gear impact to roof structural integrity is a non starter.
Paint work around AOI is unacceptable as well. A scratch has been introduced in the repair process along with hard masking lines increasing the chance of paint failure. See below for photograph In the New Mexico sun on a flat surface this is a non starter.
Repair is sub standard. Nissan has been unwilling to support their product.
ID of the hole is larger than the OD of the nut. Repair per the dealer and body shop indicated it was a non standard repair.
Vehicle out of service for 56+ days and counting. Repair and rework per this site is 33 defects. Nissan Wake Up and replace the vehicle. Sending the DTS when the issues is covered up WILL NOT help.
