I bought my 2010 Nissa Xterra in July 2010. 3 months later, the brakes started squeaking when I applied them to ease up & it was much louder when I backed up (like out of the garage where you keep your foot on the brake). Took it back to the dealership for reg maintenance & had them look at the brakes every time. They would grind them down & it would be fine for about 3months. I contacted Nissan Consumer affairs in April 2011 because the dship just told me it was reg brake noise that nothing was wrong. It was just the vehicle. In April, w/ the help of Consumer Affairs, the dlship put new brakes pads & rotors on. It did fine for about 3-4 months. Now it is squeaking like I never had anything done to it. I paid too much to have to put up with such annoying sounds coming from this vehicle. I can't even go through a drive thru that the brakes aren't squeaking as I ease up. It's not like you can floor it thru the drive thru. My husband & I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra & it has never sounded as bad as this new has. It is not normal!! I don't care what the dealership says....they're not the ones driving it! I ready to trade vehicles now. So hopefully, I won't have to put up with this much longer.
