CVT transmission failed 11-2023. Bought the car in Canada, brand new, December 2019. Even bought extended warranty. Transmission seemed to start slipping a few months to maybe a year back. This month, decided to have a Nissan dealer in Macomb, MI to check. Apparently, the CVT transmission needs to be replaced and since it has about 148,000 kms mileage on it already, it was already out of warranty. The transmission itself is close to $6000 then with labor/taxes, total cost will be close to $7000 USD.
Also, we contacted the dealership in Windsor, Canada regarding the warranty and they pretty much said the same thing. The CVT transmission is already out of warranty due to mileage. And it will cost us $8800 CAD plus $500 diagnostic plus taxes (all in Canadian dollars)
I wish Nissan could back up their products but I guess they know how bad their CVTs are.... so, never again...
