CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014-2017 Nissan Versa Note has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from earlier model years for the same generation.
In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa Note owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

When using the heat, the car does not get completely warm even with the switch all the way up and the little that does blow out has a terrible stench and the smell is left on my clothes. It smells like old pissy diapers. Also when the heat is on the back side windows (L and R) fogs up. What causes that. Also I am using a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze but will change it to all antifreeze. I am getting very concerned that it may be an electrical problem and still have 3+ years to make the monthly payments. Any suggestions would be helpful on what I can do to get the car heat to work properly and fully especially in Chicago's winters.
