CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2014-2017 Nissan Versa Note has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa Note owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

chipped paint that immediately started rusting

I had the car less than a month. My friend bought one(different color) about a week later. Both of our hoods look terrible. It started peeling and then rusting. I took mine back to the dealer and they said, "Sorry. That is what happens." Bull hockey!! This is the 2nd Versa. My 2011 did not do this! Plus,it was a better made car. This one is made cheaply. It is loud. Noisy. Just not the same! My speakers have static and then men working on it couldn't hear it. It was done this since day one.I am NOT happy.

This is my 6th Nissan. I don't know if I will buy another.
