So I decided it was time again to trade in. I bought a brand new 2024 Versa SR. I picked it up, drove it home, the day after I drove it to see my mom and came home. A couple days later I happened to be outside getting out of my other car and noticed that the driver's side 'vent' window has completely shattered. No impact parks whatsoever, I live in a very safe area, have not driven the cars in days, nobody punched it because I had it professionally looked at by Glass place and they agreed it looked defective and they suggested I talked to the dealer and fight if I have to.
So I spoke to the general manager of the dealership and had to fight a little for it because in their defense it could've happened anytime even on the way home, but it didn't. so I get their point, but at the same time this car is brand new and doesn't even have 300 km on the odometer, it has a bumper to bumper warranty and I haven't even owned it for 30 days at this point, so I had to fight with the manager a little and he got back to me the next day after speaking to Nissan head office, and Nissan was reluctant on paying for it but they apparently agreed to do it to make the dealership's customer happy... so the GM said. I'd say what got the fix approved for free was the paperwork I had the glass shop print out stating it looked defective. It's hard to fight and say it's my fault when the pro's agree with you... Well this car is made in Mexico and the QC should be questioned I'm sure, but this was pretty bizarre and I hope the replacement doesn't shatter either. Yet to be seen! :)
