CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012-2017 Nissan Versa has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from the earlier model years in this 2nd generation Nissan Versa.
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I rented a Nissan Versa and was driving at dusk. I didn't realize that I had not turned on the driving lights until it was quite dark. The problem is that when the lights are off, the interior lights look like you would expect with the lights on... I.e., the interior is fully lit up. The driving instruments are lit up. Everything looks normal for nighttime driving.... except that when I pulled over, I see that the exterior has no lights on whatsoever. To be clear, the lights were working fine. If you turn them on, they come on. But it's very dangerous that the car somehow always has the interior lighted, or perhaps it happens with a light sensor, leading you to not realize you have not turned on the exterior lights.
