Transmission Failure
2014 Nissan Versa (Page 3 of 3)
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012-2017 Nissan Versa has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.
In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

- Transmission Problems - If your nissan versa is tugging and misfiring and it's a transmission issue go to the NHTCA web site and file a complaint so they can start an investigation. My versa stopped in the middle of the freeway which could have potentially caused a major accident due to this manufacture flaw.

Bought car June2013. On March 23 2015 the car started having loud clunking, hesitation, sometimes slipping problems. The car was checked and found out the transmission needs to be replaced. The standard warranty is 36000 miles, factory warranty on tranny is 60000, so its not covered. They had the same issues with this CVT in 2003-2010 and actually had temporarily extended warranty to 120,000 until 2010 when it expired. Obviously, the new improved CVT as of 2014, at least , did not resolve the issue!! its a real hardship to come up with $3500 with no guarantee it will happen again. What you save in CVT gas mileage, you end up wasting it in fixing it. Not worth the purchase.
