CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.
Took it to where I bought the car at time problem occurred. Was told it was not a major problem would cost about 110.00 to fix. But, mechanic was about to leave the country for 2 weeks, so did not want to repair at the time. My work schedule has been horrible since then. Have not been able to get back. Was told it was not covered under warranty (of course, because what is?) Would like to know if 2011 Nissan Versa has been recalled for this problem.
