CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.
I know that Nissan vehicles have an issue with a defective gas gauge. Several models have been recalled for this. Unfortunately my vehicle, a 2010 Versa was not included in these recalls. The dealership wants $700 to fix this problem which is apparently caused by a defective sending unit. Nissan knew these were defective but continued to use them. I will never purchase another Nissan.
When there is a quarter tank of gas full, the gas gauge shows empty. The service check light also comes on. When the tank is full, the service light turns off and the gas gauge reads correctly.
