CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.
Front bumper covers on the 2010 Nissan Versa are too low to the roadway and the clips that hold the bumper cover on are too fragile. With a bumper cover six inches from the road, it is bound to "bottom-out" when emerging from a driveway or hitting a pothole. Pull out of a parking lot that has a small dip in the gutter and the bottom of the front bumper will scrap the roadway. This is predictable and would not be much of a problem for most people if the clips that hold the bumper cover on were stronger. Half of the clips on my Versa broke off within the first two months of ownership. I have epoxied the cover back on but I couldn't get it to go back into place exactly. I now have half-inch gaps where there should be sixteenth-inch gaps. This is a design and engineering defect that my other vehicles do not share. I've never had a bumper cover fall off of my other vehicles.
