Air conditioning in our 2010 Nissan Versa (Hatchback) stopped working. When we took it to Nissan dealership, they said it is because of a leaky evaporator coil. They charged us around $200 for diagnostics. To fix it, it would be around $1800. This happened 2 months after our warranty expired. This is relatively new Versa. I believe it had 18000 miles when it happened. It is not driven that much.

Nissan customer support didn't want to do anything. They asked us to pay in full for the fix.

I will never buy another Nissan!

Purchased this car used with 38,462 miles on it in May 2013 from a dealer 80 miles from my home. Took it to a Nissan Dealer in my hometown and they told me it would cost $1,350 to repair the evaporator, I still owe $11,000 on the initial loan. I called the Nissan Corporation to get financial help and basically told me too bad that is my problem. State Farm my bank holds the loan on the car and would not refinance to help me get it repaired. State Farm said I could push back 3 car payments but wanted me to pay $492 for interest to defer 3 months, this is outrageous. I like the way the car handles and it is very good on gas mileage but this outrageous cost so early into purchasing the car is not good. I am so very upset. What I learned is that never buy a used car after the manufacturer's warranty. Nissan Corporation told me that in 2010 they sold cars with 36 month/36,000 mile warranty, if I had known that I would not purchased a 2010 used car. I am so pissed.
