Takata recall.. I was informed by the dealer that the part that is required to fix/replace the recalled airbag will only be ready possibly in spring of 2018...I could get into an accident before then and die from this recall of the airbag by the time spring comes around.
Takata recall: My 2009 Nissan Versa was recalled for the takata air bags. I received a formal notice from Nissan last spring and was advised of the potential issue but they did not have parts available to replace the part at fault. Their remedy was to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until a replacement part was available. I finally got notice to schedule the replacement of the air bag inflator in late September. The service advisor at my Nissan dealership advised there were 2 recalls for both front air bag inflators but they only had parts for the passenger side. Service was scheduled for 10/2/2017 and the passenger side inflator was replaced within a week of my receiving the notice. However, the dealership service advisor told us that the driver's side part is not available an will not be available for 3 to 4 months. This is unacceptable to me - will Nissan give me a loaner vehicle until the part is in stock? apparently, lives are in jeopardy and no one seems to be in a hurry to remediate the situation!

It stays on, after being resetted several times !Nissan has no clue how to remedy this proble.passenger air bag has been turned off for safety, ha H ! thanks takata! Nissan says there having problems getting right front sway bar. Ya right!

Cannot get loaner car for air bag recall that my cause death letter promises a loaner car, but Nissan dealerships refuse to help and even tell me don't worry car is ok.
Takata recall received NHTSA recall 17V-449 pertaining to the driver's side airbag. The recall discribes the condition as dangerous to the driver of the vehicle. Contacted mcgavock Nissan in lubbock Texas due to purchasing the vehicle at this dealer. Service department told me to just drive the car that it was not an issue. When I asked about the complimentary loaner I was told that wasn't going to happen. This is my commuter car for work, so now I have to find another vehicle to drive until the parts are available. I don't understand how this dealership makes this my fault.they seem to take no responsibility on the matter. Is there no avenue for the vehicle owner to take as far as getting the complimentary loaner car mentioned in the recall notice. When I call all the phone numbers given, they just circle back and send me to another number that circles me back again. The same dealership damaged the dash on the passenger side when repairing the passenger side airbag months ago. It's like I bought a new car that I can't use and it's my fault. If Nissan isn't going to honor a recall that they chose to send out, why did they send it out in the first place. Nissan is just shifting responsibility for their shortcomings to their own consumers. If I continue to drive the car and it explodes in my face, Nissan with say that I had been warned of the problem and shouldn't have driven the car. However, they give you no alternative because they have no intention of providing a complimentary loaner car.

Received passenger airbag warning this spring. My daughter was forced to drive around with everyone in the back seat. Months later we get a recall for the driver side airbag. Now my daughter can't even drive the car! replacement parts aren't expected til 'spring 2018' which is months away. What am I supposed to do with this car during that time?
