CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.

NISSAN IGNITION PROBLEMS = EX-NISSAN BUYER
My wife's low mileage '08 Nissan Versa with ignition problems preventing it from starting, is a head ache to say the least. And is not unique it seems, as several friends at church have had the same issues with their Nissan's. One little old lady got stranded & alone because there's no warning when this problem locks up!
Bottom line..... When a gently used, well-kept, low mileage vehicle has these problems due to a manufacturing defect or at least a low quality part....my recommendation is to AVOID BUYING A NISSAN IN THE FUTURE...EVER!! I know they've left a terrible taste in my mouth & I'll never own another Nissan!
This is a widespread part failure that should be covered by a recall with no expense to the owner.....the frustration & stress of the problem is penalty enough for buying the Nissan!!
Come on Nissan......... STEP UP & DO THE RIGHT THING......COVER THE EXPENSE OF THIS FAILURE! .......your reputation and future sales depend on it!
