CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.
Had the transmission replaced by Nissan for $3200 and it too failed after 22,000. Nissan refused to fix or accept any responsibility. They cite too many miles on car and warrantly only 12 months or 12,000 miles. Totally unacceptable. Nissan North America does not stand by the product they sell and are very evasive when you talk with them on the phone.
Nissan says they cannot rebuild the CVT transmissions on Nissan Versas.......you have to buy a new one for $4,500.00...My god, that's about all the car is worth.....why won't they sell the part needed to fix the old one? Seems like a lawsuit brewing on this one...anyone else have the same problem?
