CarComplaints.com Notes: Be aware the 2007-2011 Nissan Versa was recalled in the US in May 2016 & July 2017 for defective Takata airbags that are potentially deadly. Many Versa owners have reported problems getting Nissan dealers to complete the recall repair, due to scheduling problems & parts shortages.
If you are considering purchasing a 2007-2011 Nissan Versa, call your local Nissan dealer with the VIN# & ask if the airbag recall has been done.

gas pedal slowed &throttle switch had to be rebooted
paid $98 for relearning or rebooting codes...the throttle position switch is computerized and signals failed and throttle codes lost communication thereby the gas pedal slowly stopped working and I just barely made it to a garage. the first thing I noticed was the AC not working well and then car slowing down. looked at dash board and yellow indicator said engine failure (or whatever it says). I know you are suppose to park car asap but I was able to turn around and cross couple lights.....thank god the steering wheel didn't fail me. I was told that this happens to all cars. If it happens again I'll have to invest in a new throttle switch pkg....that will cost me. I want to know if Nissan had a recall in the past years.....I bought this as a used car in 2010 and so far I've had no problems. What would I do if I had been on freeway or our 4 lane highways.
