Brought truck to the Nissan dealer for an oil change, alignment and 50,000-mile service at 46,700 miles and told the service tech that the transmission was hesitating in reverse and jerking slightly. Was told that the transmission was bad and needed to be replaced. I was also told that the engine needed to be repaired due to an engine knock caused by scoring on the number 7 cylinder. Was given a loaner and told it woudl all be fined under warranty. No one from Nissan will tell me if this is a manufacturing/engineering defect and if it will happen again after the repair. My 5-year warranty runs out in August and if this happens again I'll have to pay $15,000+ to fix it again. Not keeping my truck due to lack of faith in dependability of engine and drivetrain.
High idle stays up too long after start-up. While driving, it sounds like the fan clutch is engaged and shifting is retarded raising the rpms of the engine over 2000 rpm, before finally up-shifting. Happens at all speeds, flat or hilly, in town, highway or interstate. It's not throwing a code, and there are no engine check lights on. I'm taking it to the dealership next week.
2018 Titan SV 5.6L, high idle stays up too long after start-up. I live in south Florida so it's not the cold weather keeping idle up. Idles at 1000 rpm for about a minute and a half then idles down to 830 to 850 rpm. While driving, it sounds like the fan clutch is engaged and shifting is re-tarted raising the rpms of the engine over 2000 rpm finally up-shifting. This happens at Sunday drive speed or balls out get on the Interstate driving. I need to take it to the dealer to see what their infinite wisdom can tell me. It's throwing no code. Pickup has 12445 miles on it.
I have had nothing but trouble with this truck and the worst is the transmission...The most dangerous is the DELAY - My truck has had an issue since ForEver and nissan dealer says its not anything they can identify - When one of the employees finally admitted that he experienced it, then they say "oh they all do that" - it's normal...when I asked them to put that in writing, they would not.
Others have complained about this issue with the diesel and Nissan knows there is a problem...Someone needs to start a class action suit!! Sign me up.
There are several other issues that have cropped up with this truck:
Steering way too stiff.
Front suspension Creak less than 20k miles.
Fuel pump went out at 23K miles.
Turbo went out 23k miles.
Transmission shift issue since day 2...
BEWARE OF TITAN DIESEL.
