Mine is a 2017 Titan SL 4 door 5.5ft box.
I have had the issue twice where the brakes, without warning fail. The pedal simply goes to the floor. Upon re pumping the brake pedal it comes back. 1st time i was pointed uphill with my boat in tow. Stopped on the hill I was talking with a friend on the road when the brake pedal just went to the floor and I started to roll backwards. after pumping the pedal a couple of time it came back. Dealer inspected, found nothing, and suggested the hill lock may have been the cause but couldn't find anything wrong.
The second time I was pointed downhill to about 30kmph or 18 mph; road grade was about 6% Again with my boat trailer in tow which weighs around 3500lbs - 4000 lbs fully loaded. The trailer has disc surge brakes in good working order. As I am slowing down I keep pressing the brake but the truck isn't slowing more and the pedal is still going down. Then the pedal hits the floor and I
m not slowing even a bit. I pump the pedal a couple of time (just as last time) and the brakes come back and I'm able to stop. <p>My dealer, while always very good to me again could not find a problem and despite my last couple of calls on them still don
t have an answer for me. Given the lack of a mechanical connection in the hydraulic system ( as a vehicles were required to have for safety) there must be a faulty value bleeding backwards were it shouldn't when under a load. That`s my guess.- Carl W., Victoria, BC, Canada
