The contact owned a 2013 Nissan Titan. The contact stated the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V188000 (Air Bags) however, the contact's husband was driving at 55 mph, where the driver saw a deer in the road and swerved in order to avoid hitting the deer but the vehicle hit a driveway covert which caused the vehicle to flip several times and hit a utility pole. The driver-side air bag did not deploy, however the side curtain air bags deployed for the passenger side. The vehicle was damaged where the front and rear driver side tires were thrown off of the vehicle. The driver was ejected out of the vehicle from the front windshield. The driver sustained a bruise on his right knee, a burn to the right wrist, a bruise to his left rib, cuts and bruises over his body. No medical treatment was at the scene due to the driver declining care. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was later deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 109,000.

The vehicle was taken to dealer where the technician was unable to diagnose the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired.
