After driving for 20 minutes with the cruise control previously on and set and still on but not activated, I momentarily applied the brakes at approximately 45mph then lifted my foot from the brake pedal while approaching a red light that had returned green the truck began to rapidly accelerate on its own without my assistance of applying the accelerator pedal. Quickly recognizing the unintended acceleration situation I immediately applied the brakes and was able to regain control of the truck without incident. I have taken a photo of the instrument panel within a few minutes of the unintended acceleration capturing vehicle operating conditions during the incident.
