The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact was driving 55 mph when he noticed that the pick up bed was lopsided. Upon further inspection, the contact found that the shackle that was connected to the leaf spring was damaged. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that there were no recalls for the failure. The manufacturer was also notified and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 61000. Updated 8/6/12 the consumer stated the driver side leaf spring shackle had broken into pieces and the leaf spring pushed the truck bed up and created a large bulge. Updated 08/14/12
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed the leaf spring shackle completely broke causing the spring to go through the bed of the truck. There was a rattling noise coming from the rear of the vehicle prior to the vehicle inspection. The current and failure mileages were 58,000.
