I started having SRS airbag lights coming on and losing functionality to the steering wheel cruise controls. This is a sure sign that the clockspring is broken. I didn't know what a clockspring was until it broke. It's basically a wrapped bundle of wires that can spin with your steering wheel while maintaining a connection. Over time these wire bundles rub each other or simply break. It took me a little less than 2 hours to repair but I was able to find the part online pretty cheap.
