I was driving home one day from work with the air going and all of a sudden it started to smell like burned electronics. The fan motor was on high but wouldn't slow down when I turned the fan speed down on the knob. Turns out the blower motor relay was toast. Found a new part online. Replaced it very easily since it's accessible under the passenger side dashboard/glovebox area.
