The manufacturer advised the contact that the previous owner fulfilled the recall repair under NHTSA campaign id number: 04V408000 (power train:manual transmission:column shift assembly ). the dealer advised the contact that any repairs to the vehicle would be at the contacts expense. The vehicle was parked and was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 79,891.
: the contact stated the vehicle's transmission came out of the park position and began rolling while at the top of a driveway. A child in the front passenger seat attempted to exit the vehicle during the incident which resulted in the vehicle running over the child. The child was taken to the hospital and suffered contusions. The vehicle hit a tree and the incident was reported to the contact's insurance company who advised the contact there was a recall, NHTSA campaign id # 04V408000 regarding the power train:manual transmission:column shift assembly. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN.
