Noticed that the rear tires had fluid running from the brakes, when looked into the problem further it was discovered that the seals were leaking. The rear axle on my truck has only 55K miles. Everyone I spoke to about this problem says it is unusual that both sides would lead at the same time. The truck was in for repair due to a accident. Now the rear location was not touching during the repair and the leak was noticed after the repair work was completed.
Proceeding into traffic from side road and heard loud clunk, lost all power and was coasting in traffic, put in neutral then back into drive and would move, then tires locked up and almost caused accident. Removed rear differential cover and found teeth from gears in differential case. Has 71,000 miles on truck. At Nissan now waiting to see if covered under warranty.
