CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from the earlier model years in this same 7th generation Sentra.
In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

I purchase this vehicle about 2 years ago and been having problems with this noise took it Hinesville Ga Nissan. They couldn't find the problem so I took it to Awesome Nissan in Brunswick GA. The problem was found so they say, they fix, but later start having that same problem again. This car was so annoying to me to where I wanted to trade it in, its not worth buying the interior carpet that was not tucked right, that was annoying to me. If I am paying my money I expect for the vehicle to be in Awesome Shape, especially knowing that it was brought NEW. I never had problems like this with a used vehicle. This noise that I hear is so annoying, but how come now they want me to pay for it, when they claim they fix it, the trunk was not latching right they tried to fix it took it apart put new strips on. Still to this day (10/2019) the problem is still there, I have so much to say but not enough time at the moment.
