Excessive Wind Noise
2016 Nissan Sentra
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Nissan dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2017 Nissan Sentra has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data from the earlier model years in this same 7th generation Sentra.
In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Sentra owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

I have recently purchased a used 2016 Nissan Sentra S 1.8L vehicle April 2019. I have noticed an annoying high wind screeching/ wind howl noise on the front right side of my vehicle. I've noticed this happening at highway speeds 50mph and above and it may be when going through crosswinds. At first I thought it was a wheel bearing or something with my front right tire but the Nissan mechanic did not say anything about a wheel bearing issue and my tires have been checked twice.
I have read a Nissan service bulletin and there is a video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc4mqtI8utk that shows the exact noise the vehicle makes. Most people in the comments are saying its the thin weather stripping Nissan has put on their 2015-2016 Nissan Sentra vehicles.
I have my vehicle being checked out by Nissan currently and they may be suggesting its the transmission. I will not argue with them as of right now because the vehicle is under warranty but after a certain point if they do not manage to fix this noise I will suggest them to take a look at their service bulletin and identify if that could be the issue. Not sure if weather stripping would be done free of charge like a recall or if they will put a charge to replace the weather stripping. That is why I may suggest the door weather stripping if the problem is not solved after they fix what they think could be the issue causing the wind howling noise.
